Gravitas Technology, a leading technology service provider to the alternative investment management industry, today announced the successful completion of an implementation of Geneva®, Advent Software’s global portfolio management and fund accounting solution for New Vernon Capital, an India- focused investment advisory firm with over $2.0 billion in assets under management. The project, which will include a custom data warehouse, will provide New Vernon with a powerful information backbone on which to manage fund operations and support the investment decision process.
“New Vernon’s Geneva® solution and the accompanying data warehouse are mission- critical systems that will be instrumental in helping us scale our business, take advantage of market opportunities and provide our investors with a superior risk/return relationship,” said Mark Rubin, Chief Financial Officer, New Vernon Capital. “To get this platform operative, we needed a strong partner with both Geneva®-certified expertise and skills spanning operations, technology, custom software and application integration. Gravitas has had an ongoing relationship with New Vernon since the fund’s inception, making it the ideal partner to manage all facets of this challenging process.”
Gravitas has been involved with several Geneva® implementations and over the past year has made a significant effort in both broadening its relationship with Advent and increasing its expertise across the Geneva® platform. Previous projects have included Geneva® infrastructure support and optimization, disaster recovery design and coordination and custom report development.
“Gravitas’ project management, communication and coordination were exemplary on the New Vernon project,” said Bill Hamor, Head of Advent Professional Services. “Gravitas kept the project on track, held us all accountable for deliverables, provided insight to key decisions, kept the client engaged with the process and made sure that everyone had the tools needed to accomplish the job at hand. We look forward to working together with Gravitas on future projects.”
“For a fund of New Vernon’s size, product mix and global information needs, an open data warehouse solution was critical to the overall success of the project,” said Mark Seaman, Managing Director for Gravitas. “The combination of Geneva® with the custom data warehouse will provide New Vernon with real-time transparency into position and P&L exposure, as well as a seamless integration to its customized risk management and research information.”
This implementation reinforces Gravitas’ position as the leading service provider for hedge funds looking to implement Advent and other key business systems like order management systems, portfolio accounting systems, and risk systems. “Our Business Consulting and Software Development practices offer innovative solutions, expert project management and an integrated, holistic service,” said Jayesh Punater, Gravitas Technology’s CEO. “We provide hedge fund managers with the peace of mind that they have the appropriate mission-critical systems in place to support the firm’s strategy and attract new assets.”
